Letteratura tedesca - Pillole di saggezza!
Since I left the front line and are in hiding for several weeks, I decided to tell you what drove me away from my daily reviews: German literature. An examination of large and complicated, but as we are constantly on the subject of books, it seems to me just share a little 'of what I learned with our readers. You never know, maybe some reading you might find interesting and unusual. Let's start with the list of novels / stories / plays that I read in full:
Heinrich Böll, Ansichten eines Clowns (Clown)
A novel that I've read in middle school and I had placed in triple line in my library. I hated him so much at the time, how much I enjoyed taking it in hand. A sad story, hard, but fascinating. A clown who does not laugh much. The downfall of a man who feels lost and unable to return to the road. He can not and does not want. Moving the final image in which the protagonist, has become a beggar sings religious songs and let "die" immersed in his despair.
Bertolt Brecht , Die Dreigroschenoper (The Threepenny Opera)
Sei ore di lettura consecutiva il giorno before the said review. A real ordeal after multiple attempts to read in the last six months. Many consider it a masterpiece, but I'm not able to grasp its essence. A novel underground that plays the true spirit of Berlin, but although I tried to make me pleasure, I have reached my goal. De gustibus.
Günter Grass, Die Blechtrommel (The Tin Drum)
Novel very long and complicated. A plot full of events, plot twists, characters, war. I can only say that the image of this child who breaks the glass with her voice and her sound continuously Tin Drum, scared me more than any horror movie. It 'difficult for me to forget it.
Hermann Hesse, Der Steppenwolf (Steppenwolf) I refer you to
this review that I wrote a few months ago.
Franz Kafka, Der Prozess (The)
Kafka always intrigued me, especially since I spent three days in Prague and was constantly present in every banner and sign. The first thing that comes to mind when I think of Kafka are "The Metamorphosis", a story interesting and highly symbolic, and then I read "The process" with great curiosity. A man wakes up in the morning and is reportedly being accused of something that is not specified and in the process. A nightmare or a joke? Unfortunately for Joseph K. this is a very serious event that will take him up to execution. Rather chilling this complicated nonsense.
Thomas Mann, Der Tod in Venedig (Death in Venice)
Thomas Mann, a name and a guarantee. Already pronounce it, it makes me feel important and intellectually. The symbol of Germany's 900 allows me to talk about the great philosopher Nietzsche, the Apollonian and Dionysian spirit, e. .. I better not dwell on it because ... Ask my friends! (I can insert Nietzsche even stupid speech during Saturday's Pizza). A fascinating tale, especially for lovers of myths greci e dello spirito decadente (e di Nietzsche).
Peter Weiss , Die Ermittlung (The investigation)
I refer you to this review that I wrote a few months ago.
These are just some impressions and jokes about each work. A more detailed description of the short
