Marcelloni us left. It is not easy to announce the loss of a great person and is not easy to communicate the void that left. from 17 to 19, in the same place, will be commemorated dear Marcella in a secular greeting.

Welcome everybody,


immediately begin to illustrate some salient features of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in order to understand better and be more aware when you want to choose a psychotherapist, but no one knows where to turn.
Here read the questions that my patients frequently ask me.



What is cognitive behavioral therapy, and what are its advantages?

Cognitive-behavioral therapy is one of the most scientifically based psychological therapies, whose validity is supported by hundreds of studies.

The cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy, combines two highly effective forms of therapy:

behavioral psychotherapy by helping to change the relationship between the situations create difficulties for us and our habitual emotional reactions and behavior in such circumstances by learning new ways of reaction. It allows you to relax both mind and body, promoting well-being. In essence it is very practical to learn the techniques to be applied outside the studio.

cognitive psychotherapy: it helps to understand that our emotions and behaviors are influenced by our perception of events. It is not the situation itself to determine what we feel, but rather the way we interpret the situation. The cause of the strong emotions is not the situation but the thoughts that we do interpretation on events. Cognitive therapy helps us to identify and correct negative thoughts, to enrich, integrate them with other thoughts, however, more positive and functional well-being of the person.

negative thinking: it is too difficult
reaction: sadness, close the book

Negative thoughts are fast, concise, and therefore are more aware of emotions that cause reactions or behavior.

Depression and bipolar disorder;

anxiety, phobias, panic attacks and hypochondria, obsessions and compulsions

generalized anxiety or concern;

Eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia, etc..)

Stress, psychosomatic disorders and headaches;

sexual dysfunctions (premature ejaculation, anorgasmia, etc..)

abuse and dependence substances (alcohol, drugs, etc..)

Personality disorders;

Insomnia;

Difficulty in establishing and maintaining social relationships and impulsive behavior;

Issues couple;

difficulty in school or at work;

Low self-esteem.

I think I have a problem resulting from an incident when I was a child, but do not remember. So I told a psychologist. You can help me to remember?

Compared to other psychotherapies cognitive-behavioral therapy focuses on the "here and now."

That means remembering the past can help us understand how the present difficulties have arisen, but very difficult to remember the past can help solve the current difficulties. The goal of cognitive-behavioral therapy is to free the patient from the current problem without the causes. Treatment is centered on the present and future in order to obtain positive changes, to help the patient to escape from the trap rather than to explain as we entered.


There is a difference compared with other psychotherapies?

Cognitive therapy is brief therapy, the shorter of the other classical psychotherapies that last year, such as psychodynamic therapy. And 'this therapy-oriented in order to solve the current problems. Psychoanalysis, by contrast, look at a person's life possible causes of the problem. But it is not shown to result in exceeding the causes of the problem.

What techniques are used?

During a cognitive-behavioral the appropriate use of psychotropic drugs is not excluded, indeed, for some specific disorders therapy is most effective when combined with the taking of drugs. In alcuni casi, il terapeuta potrà ritenere utile un consulto psichiatrico, ed eventualmente il paziente potrà concordare con lo psichiatra la prescrizione di farmaci. In questo caso, l’assunzione e gli effetti dei farmaci verranno discussi nelle sedute terapeutiche.
